Crops in Eswatini sprout beyond belief thanks to a Bank-funded irrigation project

Like most African countries, many people in Eswatini are involved in agriculture. Insufficient rainfall in recent years has left farmers with insufficient food and diminished incomes.

In certain areas of the country, farmers suffer from water scarcity.  The introduction of the African Development Bank’s Lower Usuthu Smallholder Irrigation Development Project (LUSIP) is alleviating this suffering.
